He first crashed traffic lights at Askøy, then a video of the vandalism was posted online.
On Thursday night, police received multiple reports that a man had destroyed temporary traffic lights at Askøy. They were established in connection with the construction of roads in the Erdal area.
– I do not understand
On social media, a video was shared that night. He has been received by the police.
“There is damage to significant values, probably several hundred thousand crowns, we do not understand what you are looking for,” said police officer Sven Erik Midthjell in Askøy.
Synnøve Jakobsen is the project manager for the Askøi package. She says that six traffic lights were destroyed.
– There are two traffic lights at Erdal Primary School, two at Mølledalen and two at Strømsnes bridges, she says.
Crushed light
The video shows the man breaking loose at four temporary stoplights. One pushes him down the road, two others knock him down as he jumps over the room. They all end up on the ground. The light was shattered. On one occasion he applauded after sending the light to the ground.
He ran towards the traffic lights and seemed satisfied after the vandalism was over. He cheered on a bus that stopped right next to a stoplight.
Police suspect
There was a person in a car filming the vandalism.
It all happened in daylight and, according to the police, many have brought this.
– We have an idea of who he is and we are investigating the matter, says Midthjell.
He claims that it is Fyllingen Maskin who owns the traffic lights. General manager Torbjørn Foss refers to Synnøve Jakobsen in Vestland County Township.
