Last week, it was snow and the anticipation of winter that caused chaos in eastern Norway.
Now the dark autumn weather is returning across much of the country.
A south wind means that precipitation clouds are lining up off the Norwegian coast.
– Now the mild climate is back. It looks like there will be a stay on Monday night, but then there will be low pressure inland on Tuesday. It will lead to a lot of gray and heavy weather, says Ina Ynesdal, StormGeo meteorologist to TV 2.
Gray and wet
As of Tuesday, it is primarily in southern Norway that the autumn rain returns.
– It is the autumn that comes in full force. The wind will rise in a cool breeze. Combined with a lot of precipitation, it will be good fall weather, says the meteorologist.
For Sørlandet, Østlandet and the Oslo area, you need to cover yourself with an umbrella and long boots.
– It is southern and eastern Norway that have the worst weather at the beginning of the week. We have a south wind, and then we have a sea wind that gives continuous rain from Monday night, all Tuesday and until the middle of the week, Ynesdal reports.
On both Wednesday and Tuesday, there can be between 20 and 40 millimeters of rain during the day.
The sun comes out
As most of southern Norway rains on Tuesday, those living in Trøndelag and northern Finnmark can enjoy the fine weather.
– From Tuesday, the weather will be good for Trøndelag and the north. They will have a good number of stays and periods of sun, says the meteorologist.
In the north of Norway it starts well, but then it gets cloudy.
– In Troms and Finnmark, they will have good weather on Tuesday, but then it will gradually change to clouds and rain opportunities towards Wednesday, says Ynesdal.
Thursday gives hope
The rainy weather will continue in full force in southern and eastern Norway from Tuesday to Wednesday.
– For Oslo, it will rain even more on Wednesday than on Tuesday. At the same time, the rain will also come inland in western Norway, at the same time blowing with strong hurricane force winds.
– It will rain mainly across southern Norway on Wednesday, he explains.
Despite the gloomy forecasts, it appears that the dark clouds will disappear by the weekend.
– On Thursday, something seems to be changing. Then there will be accommodation opportunities, but with some rain for southern Norway.
Towards the weekend, it is once again northern Norway that runs with the best weather.
– Northern Norway will probably get away with cheaper weather with changeable weather starting Wednesday, but will also get some precipitation. But not as much as in southern Norway, says the meteorologist.
