The use of masks during the prolonged coronary pandemic has led to several health problems.

It is already well known that the mouthpiece can lead to small bumps and pimples in the area around the mouth, the so-called “makne”, but according to TV 2, doctors now also experience that more people have eye problems after using a mouthpiece.

– We noticed an increase in the number of consultations related to eye problems, as it was mandatory to wear a mask this fall, says Katharina Pracon, who is a general practitioner in Volvat.

According to ophthalmologist Sten Ræder of Eye Health Clinic and Dry Eye Clinic, poor indoor climate and prolonged viewing of television and computer screens in many people can lead to eye problems, which can be made worse by wearing a bandage.

It may be good advice to use a soft tape or skin patch to reattach the transition between the skin and the top of the mouthpiece. Using artificial tears to hydrate the eye can also help, and good hand hygiene is never wrong.
