All emergency services are in place after several buildings in the wooden houses in the center of Risør caught fire. The adjacent buildings are being evacuated.

– The state is that it is still burning. Two buildings are burning well and work is being done with the fire service to prevent spread to a third building, says operations manager Knut Odde in the Agder to Dagbladet police district at 6 o’clock.

At 7:30 a.m. burns in three buildings, police report on Twitter. The extinction works are in full swing.

– The fire service is more optimistic now than recently, so it may seem that it is going in the right direction, says Odde.

Several evacuees

“A dozen” people have been evacuated from surrounding buildings due to the smoke, Odde says. The evacuees are cared for in a municipal building.

So far no injuries have been reported.

– We cannot rule out that there are people in the buildings, but so far no disappearance has been reported, says Odde.

It is reported that there is a total over-ignition in the building. There are dense wooden houses in the area and there is an older wooden house that has started to burn. The fire service is in the process of extinction.
