Police report that there has been a traffic accident in Øystese on Saturday afternoon.

– It was an ATV with two adults and seven children, who probably ended up on the shoulder and fell. The accident must have occurred inside a courtyard, on a private street, says the commander of the guard at the 110 interchange, Ronald Drotningsvik.

In a press release, the police claim the ATV has flipped over.

– Everyone on board has been thrown or jumped, while the ATV was still rolling. An adult is the most injured. The other adult and the seven children are slightly injured and in shock, says Drotningsvik.

All seven children are under the age of 10, police say.

Treated on site

Drotningsvik says the fire brigade is at the scene with several cars. In addition, five ambulances, two air ambulances and a rescue helicopter are heading to the scene, he says, shortly before 2 p.m.

– We send rescue helicopters from Sola to help when needed, says the rescue leader at the Main Rescue Center in southern Norway, Per Hognaland.

Two adults and a child are being treated at the scene, the West Police District reports at 2 p.m. now stuck.
