The upper class steps are kept closed on a thin base. The government should set a date for the reopening.
Complete shutdown of all kindergartens and schools is a dramatic measure with significant negative consequences for the entire community.
Despite clear professional advice on opening schools, the government has decided that the highest levels of schooling remain closed indefinitely. It’s unfortunate
Own government The expert group has carried out a comprehensive assessment of the risk of infection against the consequences of closed schools.
The conclusion could not have been clearer: “Our assessment is that there is no basis to continue with today’s national closure decision, “the report says.
As the risk of infection is today, it is not proportional to the consequences for children and adolescents, the expert group believes. In particular, they highlight the most vulnerable and vulnerable children.

The government has not given some clear reasons why the best grades still remain closed. That in itself is unfortunate.
The more fundamental a measure, the greater the demands that must be placed on justification. If it fails, the legitimacy of other important measures is also weakened.
So the decision On April 27, by opening steps 1-4, the government emphasized that the reopening should be gradual and controlled, with the necessary measures for infection control.
According to the expert committee report, there is nothing to indicate that this would not be possible for the other classes either.
An argument The distinction between steps is that younger children move less outside the immediate environment, and therefore the risk of spreading the infection is also lower.
This has been taken into account by the expert group. However, they place more emphasis on the fact that closed schools have significant negative consequences, even for older students.
According to the director of health Espen Rostrup Nakstad is now working to establish a testing system so that everyone with respiratory symptoms can be tested before starting kindergarten.
If the tests work and can be further implemented, there will be another argument to open the schools.
It is understandable that authorities will not take unnecessary risks during an ongoing pandemic.
At the same time, it is important to follow professional advice. This is especially true when there are no good arguments to the contrary, and when the measures have such enormous consequences for children, employees and the Norwegian economy.
In fact, the expert group explicitly warns against the use of school closings as a general “precautionary measure”.
To open schools again requires time for comprehensive infection control planning and measures.
That is why it is important that children, parents, and school owners have a specific date to try as soon as possible.
