Ronny Brede Aase has written a book: “Close your eyes and think of tacos: how to get a weekend feeling all week” –

Cozy vacuum and cozy patches, feel a little of those words when it’s Monday and endless time before the weekend wraps us up. When the everyday feeling is one hundred percent Tuesday morning, and autumn darkness and stress at work and school take over. And on Wednesday, when we’re still waiting for Friday afternoon to happen and the smell of taco can seep from the kitchen onto the thousand couches.

– Everything that is digg in life in some way should only happen the last two days of the week. That’s silly. I made a theory that will soon be a weekend and now I have it validated by real psychologists. I have the threat that this is what is going to happen, starting the weekend feeling Tuesday.

Ronny Brede Aase smiles as broadly as Ronny Brede Aase can smile. It doesn’t seem like I slept miserably last night because of a three week old baby girl. And not only do you have a newborn girl at home, you also have a newborn book waiting for your readers. “Close your eyes and think of tacos: how to have a weekend feeling all week,” he says. It does not mean what name the girl was given.

– I sent the book to print on Monday and on Tuesday Tuva gave birth. It was the perfect time, and with the baby at home, life has become completely different. Sleep, at least occasionally, and then eat. Nobody told me that babies eat all the time.

70 percent weekdays

Ronny Brede Aase and his girlfriend Tuva Fellmann eat tacos every Sunday. In this way, they leave the weekend with a stroke of luck, and are ready for a new week where the goal is to constantly give themselves new recharges of the feeling of the weekend. Comfort and convenience are important. Life now consists of 70% working days.

– I’ve been joking about writing this book for a long time. It is not healthy to leave all the kos for the next 65 hours that arrive when the clock passes four on Friday. But you have to color everyday life yourself and make it more enjoyable. I’m good at having a little weekend all week, and psychologist Katrine Relander agrees, says it’s important to us. It’s all about hormones. Doing things that make you happy gives your body dopamine and serotonin, and counteracts our threat system, which is only concerned with preparing for all the negative things that can happen.

As a remedy for this, Ronny Brede Aase has written a kinder egg from a book, here you get a few big scoops of self-help, a couple liters of cookbook magic, and a stunning autobiography.

Extremely poor vision

Let’s go through the autobiography, to Ronny, who was born with a miserable vision, nobody ever knew why, but today he is blind in the right eye and sees very badly in the left.

– My parents never made it an issue that I looked bad, and that’s why it didn’t become important to me. I understand that someone receives their diagnosis, especially since you will always meet people who define you based on your obstacles. If you have a backpack full of everyone who has told you that something is wrong with you, then it is easy to think that it is. So, I don’t have the experience to say this, but I have a lot of experience.

Ronny Brede Aase smiles a little more, and says that of course he would like to see better, but now it is the case that he does not.

– Some time ago I was able to speak on behalf of the parents who had just been told that their children looked bad, it was great. “Let them climb, let them fall, let them break a bone,” I said. I’ve tried and tried my hardest, but I let them do it like everyone else. That is what children want. I got a huge desk at school with a huge screen so I could see what was on the blackboard, but I didn’t want to sit in the back for myself. I wanted to chat with my friends and do exactly what they did. It was incredibly much more important than getting a good grade in math. I got a three and I did well.

He believes that his basic positive frame of mind for life comes from childhood, when no one feels sorry for him or is focused on limitations. And he sincerely believes that his life is improving because he forces himself into positive streams of thought and rarely dwells on difficult things.

– Parents often think hands-on and want to do their best to make kids feel good, but sometimes kids just need someone to talk to. I hope to become a father who can breathe on my stomach, but after three weeks I feel like it can be difficult.

Game from Monday to Friday

Ronny Brede Aase has a cure for all things uncomfortable: have fun. Which often includes food and drink, and so we are in cookbook country. The tacos are of course on the menu which gives the ultimate feeling of comfort. The same goes for Western cake traditions and weeknight games with good friends.

– Nothing is better on a Tuesday than meeting with friends for a beer and something to eat. It’s like starting the weekend already then, and then you can take it with you for the week.

– And the taco?

– It’s easy to think of tacos when storms are at their worst. I close my eyes for a few seconds and imagine Tuva and me in the kitchen where we fry minced meat and make guacca and it will be really good. Then I redirect my thoughts and become happy.

A bit of factual information: According to a survey conducted by Ipsos in 2018, 12.6 percent of all Norwegians ate tacos every Friday.

Miserable

Then there is the last bit of self-help, because according to the author himself, putting all the happiness until the last part of the week means that we must be miserable the rest of the time, and there is no reason.

– If I find it difficult to get up, I go and make coffee before doing anything else. And when it starts to rain and the sky can be a little blue, yes, life suddenly improves.

And for all the critics who ask for cucumber smoothies and training classes and everything you really have to do in a hectic everyday life, there are answers for that too:

– On the road to a healthy life, I’m probably going a bit in the opposite direction. I am concerned about the path to a good life. I don’t give a damn and enjoy your life, that’s what I want in this book. And everything I have learned in my 34 years of life convinces me that this is the right path.

– So you don’t have to act before you can enjoy?

– If you want. But it still works a bit. And be sure to enjoy yourself enough!
