– At least 1 person appears to be seriously injured and receives life-saving first aid at the scene, the Eastern Police District announced on its Twitter account shortly after they were notified of the accident at 5:53 p.m.
Just over an hour later, it becomes clear that the person’s life could not be saved.
– Police can now confirm that 1 person died in the accident. Work is now under way to notify relatives, writes the Eastern Police District on Twitter.
At 6.30 pm, Romerikes Blad was informed that the accident had occurred in connection with a car traveling in the opposite lane and colliding head-on with another car.
– There were four people in a car who got out by their own machine. A person in the other car got trapped, but now they help him and he speaks on his own machine, so he thinks I’m not seriously injured. Traffic operator Mette Brunøy in Vegtrafikksentralen Øst says that the entire E6 is closed pending an air ambulance.
– There is a detour on fv1585. At the moment there is a lot of queue, but it is a serious accident and the accident group from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration is also on their way to the scene, he says.
