Romerikes Blad – Coming Out of the ER Joint – Enter a New Collaboration

[ad_1]

On Wednesday, the presidency unanimously approved the councilor’s recommendation to enter into collaboration with the Eidsvoll municipality on emergency services and 24-hour municipal immediate help (KØH) services located in the Vilberg health park.

Current agreement with host municipality Ullensaker terminated.

Hurdal, Ullensaker, Gjerdrum and Nannestad have had an inter-municipal collaboration since 2017 for the ER and KØH located at the LHL hospital in Jessheim. Eidsvoll and Nes have always had their own local emergency room.

Save 500,000

The Municipality of Hurdal participates in several inter-municipal companies and has reviewed them to see if they are executing their tasks in the most profitable manner possible.

– The service offered in Ullensaker and in Eidsvoll is comparable and will be an equally good offer for the inhabitants of Hurdal. The Hurdal municipality, by signing an agreement with Eidsvoll, will obtain an annual savings of about 500,000 crowns, writes Councilor Kjetil Kokkim in the presentation of the case.

In addition, he points out that a collaboration with the Eidsvoll municipality will open other spaces for collaboration such as the municipal chief doctor, intoxication and mental health.

Benefit for both

At Eidsvoll, the main committee has said yes to cooperation and agreement, and the presidency will likely do the same on Tuesday. The case goes to the municipal council of both municipalities.

Eidsvoll Councilor Knut Haugestad believes that a collaboration between the two municipalities on emergency services / KØH should be to the advantage of both parties.

– The Municipality of Hurdal will be able to find a satisfactory solution for lower annual expenses than at present, and the availability of emergency services / KØH will be somewhat better. The municipality of Eidsvoll, for its part, will achieve some greater security by being able to provide the emergency room with qualified nurses and doctors at all times, since it has both municipalities to turn to, in addition to part of the expenses covered for the municipality of Hurdal, writes Haugestad in his presentation of the case.
