– The Air Force Christmas Star is a good annual tradition, carefully planned each year, Air Force spokesman Major Stian Roen tells the Armed Forces forum.
Squadron 331, flying F-16s, flew from Bodø and over Troms and Finnmark. Next year will be the last time there will be a poinsettia flight from Bodø, writes NRK.
– Next year we will give up flights with F-16s. Now we had 24 planes in the air today, I don’t think we will have that next year, says the head of the Bodø air force base, Henning Homb, on the state channel.
From Ørlandet, the 332 Squadron’s F-35s flew south to Kristiansund. However, a quick trip to Molde and Ålesund was canceled.
– It has been a fantastic compromise among the population and we are very happy about that. We have pleased many, and then we realize that some are also disappointed, when we unfortunately cancel in some places, says Roen to the forum of the Armed Forces.
