The message reached the fire service at 4:13 p.m., says Atle Rønning, duty officer at Central 110.

– It will be on the 3rd floor of the parking lot, the main parking lot in the old part, he says.

According to Rønning, the fire service must arrive with a fire truck at the scene. It still can’t say anything about the danger of spread.

– We just arrived, says Rønning.

Shortly after, the guard of the 110 station, Thomas Silva, was able to announce that the fire department was at the scene with several cars.

– There must have been a fire in a car. We were able to partially extinguish the fire with a gunpowder device and now we are working to transport water there. There are some challenges in getting water to the third floor. A cart with a ladder arrived at the site, Silva says.

So far, there have been no reports that the fire had consequences for other cars.

Task leader Anders Bru in the eastern police district tells RB that police and firefighters are now working to get an overview of the situation.

The car park is currently closed while emergency services are working on site.
