Two cars collided head-on on Provincial Highway 653 in Haddal in the Ulstein Municipality of Møre og Romsdal. The emergency services were notified shortly after five o’clock and left with a large team of toilets, firefighters and police.

– Two cars collided head-on and four people were involved. Several of them were trapped but have now been discharged and sent to the hospital by air ambulance, says operations manager Arild Reite.

The condition of those involved is unclear.

So far, the police cannot say anything about the cause of the accident. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration accident group is on the scene and forensic police technicians are on their way.

Diversion at the accident site

The road is closed and there are significant traffic problems on the site.

– The highway will be closed for a while, says operations manager Reite.

There is a local detour for passenger cars. Larger vehicles should take the ferry connection Fv 61 Hareid-Sulesund and E39 Solavågen-Festøya, reports the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Tail after accident

There are significant traffic problems on the site.

The accident occurred in Haddal in the Ulstein Township in Sunnmøre.
