Remember Christmas soda

Ringnes says in a press release on Saturday that they have discovered cases of mouth damage from the 0.33L sparkling glass bottles.

– For the sake of our consumers’ safety, we have no choice but to recall products that have been bottled in this type of bottle, says quality manager Olaug Flakne in Ringnes.

Products to which this applies are Dahl’s Christmas Soda, Dahl’s Lett Christmas Soda, Hamar & Lillehammer Christmas Soda, Hamar & Lillehammer’s Lett Christmas Soda, Mozell Eplemost and Tou Eplemost.

Ringnes claims that in view of the large volume of bottles on the market, the scope is very limited. However, they choose to withdraw the products delivered in the corresponding bottles as a precaution.

Ringnes has received 13 complaints out of a total of 13 million bottles produced. Damage to bottles is visible after opening.

– Therefore, consumers should not worry that they have drunk from a damaged bottle without being discovered, says Flakne, who emphasizes that Ringnes is in close dialogue with the supplier of the bottle to discover possible causes.

– Having to recall our popular Christmas soda products for two weeks before Christmas Eve is, of course, sad and something for which we deeply apologize. But more important than anything else is the safety of consumers. When we cannot guarantee that our bottles are safe to drink, we unfortunately have no choice but to recall them from the market, says communications director Nicolay Bruusgaard at Ringnes.
