HAMAR / OSLO (VG) (HamKam – Lillestrøm 1–1) With Ståle Solbakken (52) in the stands, HamKam took on the role of party brake. Now could be a stressful season finale for Lillestrøm.

A win at Briskeby would have been enough to secure promotion to the Elite Series for LSK, but Kjetil Rekdal wanted it differently.

The new manager of the Norway team, Ståle Solbakken, sat in the stands and watched Kristian Eriksen send the hosts in the lead.

– I think we surprised them a bit, says Eriksen to VG.

Solbakken played for HamKam from 1989 to 1994, before his career continued at Lillestrøm until 1997. Gruesokningen was also HamKam’s coach from 2002 to 2005.

Now it is Kjetil Rekdal who is in command. The former Vålerenga manager has pulled HamKam out of dire straits at the bottom of the Obos league.

– Maybe we needed someone to take care of us properly, says Markus Solbakken, Ståle’s son, to VG.

For a long time it looked like HamKam would step into qualifying, but eight minutes before full-time Tryggvi Hrafn Haraldsson leveled for the visiting team.

– A bit boring end of the game. Lillestrøm is progressing well, but there are two teams that have done well this fall, says Kristian Eriksen.

This means that Lillestrøm only needs one point to secure promotion.

Sogndal is six points behind but has two games left and the same goal difference as Lillestrøm.

Ull / Kisa (away) and Åsane (home) are Sogndal’s two remaining matches, while Lillestrøm finishes at home against Grorud in the final round of the series.
