Walther Sommerlath, brother of Queen Silvia of Sweden (76), has died. He turned 86 years old. It appears in a statement from the 76-year-old man.

Affected by the disease
Walther Sommerlath passed away on Friday at Karolinska Hospital in Huddinge after a period of illness. He was born Walther Ludwig Sommerlath in 1934 in Brazil.
Queen Silvia was the youngest of the family’s siblings and the only girl. His other brothers are Ralph de Toledo Sommerlath and Jörg, who died in February 2006 after a long illness. He turned 64 years old.
When tragedy struck royalty
Silvia’s brother Jörg contracted cancer in December 2004. The same year he collapsed during a dinner in Berlin. He was unable to swallow, was admitted to the hospital, and was later diagnosed with laryngeal cancer. The following year, he underwent surgery, and doctors long believed that the operation had been a success. But the same year, cancer struck him again.
His brother’s death comes a year after the 76-year-old lost his close friend, Anki Wallenberg. Wallenberg had been friends with the Swedish royal family since the 1970s and was, among other things, an important contact for Princess Madeleine when she moved to London in the early 2000s.
I lost my girlfriend in an accident
It was here, in a Chelsea villa, that the royal friend settled in the 1980s. Close friendship with the Swedish royal couple and their children ensured that Wallenberg was seen often at royal events and was also on private visits.
Wallenberg died in a boat accident in Switzerland, at the age of 68. His brother, Stefan Magnusson, told Expressen. In addition, the death was also reported by the Swiss newspaper The Local.
