German prosecutors say they have proof that Madeleine McCann is dead.
German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told Portuguese broadcaster RTP that they had proof that the British girl was dead, according to The Independent.
When asked if there is physical evidence that McCann is dead, Wolters answered “yes,” according to the newspaper.
The prosecutor, on the other hand, did not want to elaborate on the physical evidence in question.
The Telegraph and the leading German newspaper Bild also cover the case.
– According to the information we have, the girl is dead. We have no information that she is alive. We have things that we cannot communicate that speak to the theory that Madeleine is dead, Wolters told Sky News in June this year.
This summer, the prosecutor singled out German Christian Brückner as the main suspect in the case. Brückner is incarcerated in Kiel and is currently serving a drug sentence. The man has previously been convicted of assault.
The German lived between 1995 and 2007 during periods on the Algarve coast, near the McCann family vacation spot. There he was guilty of various crimes, such as theft of hotels and vacation homes, as well as drug trafficking.
Madeleine McCann disappeared from an apartment complex in the Portuguese seaside town of Praia da Luz in 2007. She was then three years old.
