A participant of the reality show was sentenced Monday to eleven years in prison with a minimum term of seven and a half years, writes Nettavisen. The man was charged earlier this year with aggravated rape of a baby and, according to the newspaper, was immediately removed from production of the series.

The man’s defender, Knut-Erik Storlykken Søvik, tells Dagbladet that he has spoken with his client after the verdict and that he will appeal the sentence.

– You do not agree with the question of detention. He believes a fixed-term sentence would be sufficient, says the defender, continuing:

– He’s having a hard time, but I was prepared for this to be a result.

The man has been sentenced to prison because the court considers that the risk of recidivism is moderate and that there are serious doubts about the effectiveness of a treatment.

The court believes that a fixed-term sentence is not enough to protect society.

The man was arrested and charged with producing child abuse material in November last year.

He gave an unreserved confession after all the charges against him.

The victim has been subjected to a total of 22 episodes that are characterized as rape, as well as seven episodes that are classified as sexual acts.

It also appears here that the man was in possession of nearly 30,000 photo and video files showing child abuse. The convict has admitted that he downloaded child pornographic material over a period of more than 20 years.

In addition to the prison sentence, the man has been sentenced to pay a compensation of NOK 400,000 to the injured party.
