The Royal House further claims that the court has received advice from the authorities regarding infection detection and testing of the Crown Prince’s family.

Several royals have recently tested positive for the coronavirus. In late November, it was confirmed that Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of the Swedes were infected.

“The prince and princess show signs of mild flu symptoms, but they are fine under the circumstances. Immediately after being diagnosed with the disease, the prince and princess were quarantined at home with their two children,” it was said in a press release from the then Swedish royal family.

Testing and screening for infections were implemented, and the rest of the royal family tested negative afterward.

Swedish court communications chief Margreta Thorgren told Expressen that the Swedish royal family had met in connection with the funeral of the queen’s brother, Walther Sommerlath.

“So they were in the same church room,” Thorgren said.

The necessary infection control rules must have been taken in relation to the funeral and the royal family had fewer than ten people in the church room.

– Before this little family event, everyone was evaluated on Friday. So the tests were negative. Important security measures were taken in connection with the funeral, the communications manager continued.
