Premier League manager Richard Masters says the clubs discussed an end-of-season scenario for the first time, without being finalized.

On Monday, British authorities announced that they will be allowed to broadcast sporting events behind closed doors, starting June 1.

It opens for Premier League football to roll again, but there is still a long way to go before it can happen.

That is, there are disagreements at various points, especially the use of neutral paths.

Discussed to end the season

According to The Telegraph, Premier League director Richard Masters was asked to return to the government to negotiate precisely that point.

The newspaper states that up to 12 of the 20 Premier League clubs, to a greater or lesser extent, require matches to be played at the teams’ home if possible.

After talking to the Premier League clubs, the Masters confirmed the possibility of finishing the season for the first time without playing more games.

– This is the first time we have discussed the shortening of the season. It is still our goal to finish the season, but it is important to discuss all the alternatives with our clubs, says Masters according to the AP.

Continuous dialogue

The clubs did not come to a conclusion on whether that means the league will be decided by a points-per-game formula, as in France, where PSG was named champion.

– Everyone prefers to play at home and away from home if possible over the head. It is clear that some clubs have stronger opinions on this than others. It is a continuous dialogue, and we are in contact with the authorities and we are listening to their advice, at the same time that we represent the opinions of the club in these discussions, says Masters.

Liverpool led the Premier League by 25 points when the Premier League stopped two months ago.

Below the line are Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Norwich. Bournemouth is on points with Watford and West Ham, which are above the line.
