The forward had two big chances at St. James’ Park, but missed for once in the final moments both times.

However, a happy point for Liverpool fans on Wednesday was that Thiago Alcantara returned to the field after being away for several months with a knee injury.

Lars Tjårnæs also noted that Thiago could be the key to getting Liverpool back in shape.
Jürgen Klopp says after the game that he is satisfied with the performance of his team against the black and white.
– The Premier League consists of only good teams. We had great chances, but the opponent is good and that’s the way it is all the time. I liked the performance, it was really good. Can we play soccer better? Yes, but in this match created more than enough to win, according to the BBC.
He is also very happy with Thiago’s first minutes of the game in more than two and a half months.

Wilson’s possibilities

In the extension of the first part, the English had to return to action, when a corner found the forehead of Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian’s header aimed at the net, but Darlow took a new qualified save and prevented the goal.
Directed without creating
Jürgen Klopp’s team continued to control the game after the break, but the Reds struggled to find opportunities.
After 66 minutes, Salah came in from the right, feinted and quickly passed the off-balance defender to make the score 1 – 0, giving Firmino the lead.
The Egyptian drew in with his good left foot and caught Darlow with his left foot, but the shot escaped from Newcastle’s goal.
Klopp shot towards Thiago towards the end in hopes of a winning goal, but the Liverpool manager could see Ciaran Clark coming very close after a corner kick.
The midfielder was infuriated with a free kick and headed towards the far corner, but Alisson dived like a cat and had the ball knocked out in a harmless area.
Soon after, he nearly narrowed on the other end when Darlow hit a pole at Sadio Mané’s feet.
The ball went high over the penalty area and, in what seemed like a well-rehearsed play, it was headed backwards to reach Fabian Schär, who put it into the net with a single touch.
Liverpool were to be just as close shortly after when there was total chaos inside the Newcastle area after a corner kick, but once again the hosts managed to clear in the twelfth hour and secure a very strong point.
