Super forward Brendan Rodgers scored two goals against Leeds.
LEEDS – LEICESTER 1-4:
The 33-year-old was already running after three minutes when he took advantage of a terrible pass from Robin Koch and arrived alone with the goalkeeper.
He selflessly chose to face his teammate Harvey Barnes in an open goal that made it 1-0, but the Leicester star should still score his goal in the second half.
However, everything could have been different when Leeds spearhead Patrick Bamford had the chance after just a minute and a half.
The 27-year-old, who scored the hat trick on the last league matchday, received the ball in the forehead from five meters, but without scoring he managed to direct Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel directly.
The finish made Brede Hangeland rub his eyes, among other things.
– It looks like a setback. It’s a completely weird situation, summed up the TV 2 expert at halftime.
The barrier grew heavier for Bamford, who just two minutes later saw Barnes make it 1-0.
Leicester led the most in the first half, doubling the lead after 21 minutes.
Once again, Vardy was involved, as he snuck in front of his keeper at the first post and headed for goal. Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier prevented scoring with an excellent save, but the return ended in the legs of Youri Tielemans, who was given an easy task of making it 2-0.
Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa was unhappy with what he saw of his own team before the break and decided to make changes early in the second half.
He watched the team respond as a Stuart Dallas post shot across the field and ended up in Schmeichel’s longest corner.
The hosts were much more in the notes initially in the second half, but after 76 minutes, Vardy put the nail in the coffin of Leeds.
Cengiz Ünder played the striker wonderfully and scored his seventh goal of the season.
In extra time, Leicester also received a penalty, which Tielemans scored beautifully in goal.
The 4-1 victory also means that Brendan Rodgers’ side is now second in the Premier League, just one point behind league leaders Liverpool.
