At 10:35 a.m., police say a vehicle has just been stopped after a long chase after it left a UP patrol in Lyngen on Sunday morning.

– UP’s announcement came at 10:52. They had tried to stop a vehicle after a speeding violation. The car refused to stop and headed south, says operations manager Roy Tore Meyer.

The patrol chased the car he was driving from Lyngen, further through Lavangsdalen and towards Tromsø.

– At Leirbotn we had set up a stall, and here the car arrived a few minutes ago, Meyer tells Nordlys at 10.40.

At the junction of the E8 at the entrance to Breivikeidet, the police had removed nail mats and the car was punctured on both front wheels.

– Then he stopped. After this, there is also another road user who has been hit by this car. It is not a personal injury, but less material damage.

The driver was a woman in her 30s. There was also a passenger in the car.
