The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Police stopped a red Mercedes at a traffic control in Vestby. Police parked behind the car and two officers got out of the car towards the Mercedes.
It is at that moment that the Mercedes backs up and drives very hard backwards. It oscillates in what appears to be a conscious action.says Operations Manager Terje Marstad in the eastern police district to NTB.
One policeman managed to escape, while the other was injured on the spot. They have taken him to the hospital. Marstad says he will not comment on the extent of the damage for now.
– The Mercedes ran away and now we are looking for the car with great forces. We have some clues so we can track the car, he says, adding that they ask everyone who looks at the car to tip the police.
The car was last seen driving north on E6, and may have taken back roads as well.
– It is not common for police officers to be injured. When it’s seemingly a deliberate act, then of course it’s something we take very seriously, Marstad says.
