The incident is said to have occurred at 3pm on Wednesday last week, on a hiking trail in Fyllingsdalen.

It is said that a man dragged a girl of primary school age into the forest and tried to undress her. The girl ran away and ran from the place. The girl went alone, having been at an event in the church in Sælen.

– I cannot get into the action itself, but it is a relationship that we define as very serious. We have many resources on the case, says Police Inspector Tore Salvesen.

The case is being investigated as an assault.

– I never heard anything like it

– I think it’s a bit scary when I have children who go here both to train and to school. It’s not the best you hear when you have young children, says Silje Wallmann. He goes out for a walk with his daughter Ariel Wallmann (5).

She says that there are many children walking along the forest path.

– I will probably talk to my children and tell them they should go with others and to be careful when they leave, says Wallmann.

Among those who have been in contact with the police is an anonymous resident in the area that NRK spoke to.

– We have lived here for 30 years and we have never heard anything like it. I did not go here at the time, but will consult with other people who live in the area, says the resident.

Need help from witnesses

In a Facebook message, the police write that they need help from witnesses.

The police want leads on 47696060.

On Tuesday night, Police Inspector Tore Salvesen says they have received a number of tips.

– We are very happy that people are contacting us, he says

The hiking trail runs from Sælen Church, past Varden football fields, and heads to Bjørge. The police will contact the people who walked the trail on Wednesday, October 7 between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

– We know that there were people on the hiking trail during this time, and we ask that you contact the police. We want to know if anyone may have seen anything that could help us in the investigation. We also know that there were children in the area at this time, and we ask parents to ask their children if they have seen anything, police write on Facebook.

FYLLINGSDALEN: It is in this area where it is said that the girl was attacked.

At the beginning of the investigation

The girl’s relatives reported the incident to the police two days after it was said to have happened.

– It’s still early in the investigation. In addition to calling potential witnesses, the police’s job is to obtain and analyze electronic leads, forensic investigations and questioning of witnesses, the police write in a press release.

Tonight they will also participate in a survey in the local area. The electronic leads being investigated include both looking at surveillance footage and phones that have been moved in the area. Police have carried out a full investigation of the crime scene at the scene.

Salvesen claims they have made some findings in the case, but are unable to reveal individual details surrounding the case.

– We have worked well and we continue to work with some discoveries, he says.
