Since then, large forces have searched for the man from Eritrea.
He was last seen in a nightclub on Strandgata 15 in the center of Rørvik, at 12.30pm on the first Saturday in September.
According to witnesses, he was in a good mood and drunk. She was wearing dark clothes, but we don’t know any more details about it, says Line Marthe Fuglum Juliussen of the police in Namdalen.
Great search operation
Last weekend, a large search operation was launched in the center of Rørvik and the port area. More than 60 people from both the Red Cross and the Civil Defense assisted the police in the search for the man, and in the port area, the divers conducted their investigations.
The only clue so far is the missing person’s bike that was found in a kiosk, not far from the nightclub the Eritrean visited on Friday, September 4. Additionally, a phone was found in the man’s apartment. The man’s passport was also in the apartment, police say.
– Therefore, we do not believe that you have left Rørvik voluntarily. At least that’s not our main hypothesis, Juliussen tells NRK.
Police have asked people in Rørvik via social media to stop by stalls, garages, boats in the marina, boats on shore, keyless cars and other places where someone can stop. But the search has been fruitless.
Old man in the cemetery
According to the police, four men were observed with the Eritrean missing the night he disappeared. The police would like to have contact with these people and with an elderly man who was in contact with the Red Cross at the Rørvik cemetery this weekend.
– We appreciate all the advice in the case, but would like more. And we are the ones who evaluate the importance of the advice we receive. If you discover clothing, objects, or something that has moved, contact the police, Juliussen says.
The man arrived in Norway in 2017 and has refugee status. He has a brother in Ålesund and a wife in Uganda with whom he has applied for family reunification.
– We have been in contact with his family, but they have not heard from the missing man, says Juliussen.
The school reported him missing
According to the police, it was the Rørvik school that informed the refugee service when it did not come to teach last week.
The police have ended the search for the missing Amanuel Tewelde Tela, but the investigation continues in its entirety.
– We questioned people from the man’s circle of friends and people who visited the nightclub he visited before disappearing. In addition, we review the data that we have collected. But like I said, we want more advice, Juliussen says.
