Kristiansand police now believe that 48-year-old Dan-E claim Lid was killed. They do not believe that the murder has a political motive.

This was stated by police lawyer Morten Formo in the Agder police district at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

For now, the police will not say anything more about the cause of death, but could confirm that it was Lid who was found dead on Saturday. Police also said they were looking for one or two perpetrators.

So far no one has been charged or arrested in the case. Relatives after Lid have been appointed Bjørge Tveito as assistant attorney.

– It is not a political motive

Lid was found dead at his home in Kristiansand on Saturday. He is said to have been found with visible injuries, and the police first investigated the death as a suspect. On Monday, forensic technicians from the local police and Kripos were inside the apartment.

Lid was involved in the organization Stop the Islamization of Norway (Sian), but at the moment the police believe that there is nothing to indicate that there was a political motive behind the murder.

– There is no indication that it is a political motive, but we are keeping all possibilities open, said police attorney Morten Formo at the press conference Monday afternoon.

However, he stated that, based on the deceased’s political participation as an activist for Sian, they will keep the PST informed about the case.

Video surveillance

It was a neighbor who found Lid dead in his apartment around 1 p.m. Saturday.

The housing association where Lid lived and was found dead has several surveillance cameras. Videos of these can be key evidence, writes TV 2.

Among other things, there must have been cameras pointed at the parking lot just below the apartment where Lid was found dead, at his porch door, and at the ceiling inside the hallway leading to the front door. However, some of these images may be too dark to be used as evidence.
