More than 150 people accused

More than 150 people have been charged with federal crimes so far after Trump supporters launched the storm in early January, the US Justice Department said Tuesday.

Investigators are investigating more than 400 people involved in the violent attack, said Attorney General Michael R. Sherwin in Washington DC.

The number of charges is expected to continue to rise as the assault is well documented by surveillance cameras and video on social media. Huge amounts of advice have also been received from the public, NTB writes.

The charges that have been dropped so far basically apply to petty crimes like illegal residency, but more have become increasingly serious for most of the more than 150 defendants.
