Operations centers across the country are constantly receiving new reports of various forms of irrational fireworks. The southeastern police district says they are being called.
– The operations center is now shrinking due to reckless use of fireworks. It is aimed at people and buildings, but so far no serious injuries have been reported, the Southeast police district writes on Twitter.
The latest was a report of 50 young people who have set off fireworks at houses.
– Many ran out of the place upon our arrival. The police are in control of the situation, they write.
In Drammen, a group of young people in their 20s have set off fireworks among themselves. One person was injured, probably not seriously injured, according to police.
They also report on “Wild West” conditions in Kongsberg.
– Launching fireworks in all directions, as well as illegal snowmobiles, the police report.
Later, they update that 15 people have been reported and fined after the Wild West party in Kongsberg.
– The lawyer of the police on duty has decided that all the participants of the match be reported. The party owner will be fined NOK 10,000 and each participant NOK 5,000. No one would admit a snowmobile at the scene, and it has been seized, Operations Manager Trond Egil Groth in the Southeast Police District tells NTB.
Various fires
Pasture fires are also reported in several locations in Troms, including one in Dyrøy caused by rockets in dry grass.
Similar reports have also come in from the Nordland police district.
– All of them are probably caused by fireworks, the police write about the grass fires in Bodø.
In Lørenskog, the police have responded to reports of fights and several people firing fireworks at people in a parking lot near the Triad.
Sør-Øst also reports a fire in a ledge box in Larvik, probably caused by fireworks.
Power off with powder appliance, but some have inhaled the powder from the appliance. The fire has been extinguished and the patrol is investigating further now, police write.
Metro evacuated
There have also been reports of irrational fireworks earlier in the evening in Oslo.
In Ellingsrudåsen, young people fired fireworks at passersby.
– We received several messages around nine o’clock that shot each other and in the direction of random passersby in Ellingsrudåsen, Operations Manager Vidar Pederson tells VG.
Later in the evening, the Storting metro station was evacuated after someone used fireworks inside.
The perpetrators have not been caught, and probably all over the mounds, according to press officer Jan Rustad in Sporveiene.
– Unfortunately, today is New Years Eve. That explains why the incident happened, he says.
Ask people to follow the rules
Above Gjerdrum, where there has been a large landslide, the police have asked people not to set off fireworks because it makes it difficult to find the ten missing there.
Police have also warned people that they will crack down on infection control violations on New Year’s Eve.

The Oslo police inside Ring 2 have recruited staff for the New Year’s celebration.
