Primoz Roglic started the decisive tempo stage with a 57-second lead over Tadej Pogacar, but the battle for the leader’s yellow jersey was far more exciting than most had imagined before stage 20.
Primoz Roglic made a fuss on stage, while Tadej Pogacar claimed the yellow jersey and overall winner of the Tour de France.
Pogacar won a total of 59 seconds in favor of Roglic. The Slovenian UAE Team Emirates prodigy also won the stage, one minute and 21 seconds ahead of Tom Dumoulain.
– I think I’m in a dream. I do not know what to say. It’s incredible, says Pogacar in the victory interview, before being interrupted by Roglic, who came to congratulate the compatriot with the Tour de France victory.

In addition to the yellow jersey, Pogacar won the climbing and youth jersey.
The yellow jersey is not raced in the final stage on Sunday, so it is time to reach the Pogacar finish line.
– Is incredible. It’s almost too sick to be true. That’s the wildest thing I’ve ever been involved in, exclaimed TV 2 commentator Christian Paasche in photos from the Planche des Belles Fille match.
– Then your head boils that the helmet is coming off, commented TV 2 cycling expert Thor Hushovd about the footage of Roglic on his way to the finish.
In the goal area were Tom Dumoulain and Wout van Aert, who surprised the spectators at the Planche des Belles Filles.
– It hurts to see Primoz like this. We were almost ready for the party, van Aert tells TV 2.
– I’m very surprised that Pogacar is a minute faster than me, says Dumoulain on TV 2.
The general competition will not be played on Sunday’s stage, so it is enough for Pogacar to complete the stage in Paris.
Alexander Kristoff and Vegard Stake Laengen join exclusive partnership with Atle Kvålsvoll, Kurt Asle Arvesen and Edvald Boasson-Hagen. It is the Norwegians who have been in the team with the absolute winner of the Tour de France.
