The Swedish ski star (21) has given careful thought after Petter Northug was pulled over for rough driving on August 13, but is now confident he made the right decision.

In the wake of the incident, the former ski king stated that he had had a substance abuse problem for a long period of time and now wanted to overcome it.
– We have had contact all the time and I have decided to continue the collaboration with the Northug brand, says Frida Karlsson to Swedish TT.
When Northug was arrested, he was suspected of being drunk at the wheel, but in early September it became clear that tests taken at the scene must have been negative.
– It was important to me that he was clean when he got in the car. It was important to my decision, says Karlsson.

Karlsson says he has been in contact with Northug herself.
– Petter is a human being like everyone else and makes mistakes. He was driving too fast and has had trouble adjusting after giving up. You need help and want to accept that help. As a friend, I want to support him, she says.
– We had a little dialogue. I have said that you should do everything you can to find happiness and recover. What I get is that it was an alarm bell that rang for him and that he really wants to change, says Karlsson.

Halvfarsson Street is another Swede who collaborates with the Northug brand and has previously expressed that he also wants to continue with it.
