Northug is also said to have kept three tablets containing the narcotic Diazepam and two tablets containing Alprazolam, according to the indictment first mentioned by NRK. Northug is supposed to have used cocaine on the night of August 11 this year.

You must also answer for reckless driving.

According to the indictment, Northug must have driven more than 200 km / h on three different occasions during three days.

Northug drove 203 km / h in zone 110 on E6 in Spain on August 10, 204 km / h between Trysil and Elverum in zone 80 on August 12, 221 km / h in the same zone the next day and 168 km / h Zone 110 later the same day.

Police assume Northug himself used a mobile phone and filmed the speedometer during the first three incidents.

The indictment describes how Northug in several of these incidents made several passes before stopping the car in the middle of the road and again accelerating and driving at high speed in the middle of the road.

“At the same time, he made several passes at this speed, including a left turn. He also drove in the opposite lane several times while filming and constantly commenting on his own driving.” is described in the indictment, about the incident when he was driving at 221 km / h between Trysil and Elverum.

Northug will explain himself via the video link on Monday. Reported TV 2 first.

The police attorney in the case is Karoline Ekeberg and the defense attorney is Halvard Helle. The court administrator is District Court Judge Ole Kristen Øverberg. The case is scheduled in courtroom 250 at the Oslo courthouse, but for infection control reasons there will be very limited places in the courthouse.

In confession cases, it is common for the judgment to be determined at the court hearing, after the accused has explained himself to the judge.

VG has attempted to contact Petter Northug’s attorney, Halvard Helle, without success.

On August 21, Northug met with the press for the first time after police detained him. Then he admitted that he struggled.

– I have a serious substance abuse problem, consisting of alcohol, drugs and pills in connection with the periodic heavy fasting lately. And there’s been a lot of partying lately, Northug said when it was first explained publicly after the events.

– I was at a party on Tuesday night, until late Wednesday night. There they took alcohol and cocaine, and on Wednesday night I drove to Trysil. He was at ski school on Thursday, Northug told the media.

He also said that he has done many things that he is ashamed of “in the pursuit of excitement and intense experiences.”

“Now it’s gone wrong and I need help,” Petter Northug said four months ago.
