On Wednesday, the producers behind a new television series announced that they are filming where Danish submarine captain Peder Madsen admits to killing journalist Kim Wall.
The television series “The Secret Recordings” is produced by Discovery Networks.
The admission is said to have taken place during one of several telephone conversations with journalist Kristian Linnemann.
– It’s my fault she died. And it’s my fault because I committed the crime. It’s all my fault, he says on the show, according to the producers.
Madsen was convicted of the murder in 2018, but never admitted the act of murder in court.
– Illegal and manipulation
Now the wife of the Dane convicted of murder is mobilizing against the producers and claims that Madsen was deceived.
– Mr Linnemann has never informed us that he recorded the telephone conversations. I should point out that all the material you have has been obtained illegally and with manipulation, writes Jenny Curpen on Facebook.
It was the Danish newspaper BT and Se og Hør that first mentioned the wife’s statements. Curpen claims that Madsen spoke to the journalist because he wanted to investigate the possibilities of publishing an autobiography.
– In my opinion, Mr. Linnemann’s actions are unethical, unprofessional, irresponsible and unacceptable, he writes.
Reject criticism
However, the program’s editor, Tine Røgind, rejects the criticism that reaches the journalist and the television series.
– Peter Madsen has known from the beginning that he spoke to a journalist and that the inquiry was journalistic in nature. Peter Madsen has learned that the conversations were recorded and has agreed to use it on the show, Røgind told BT.
Madsen was convicted of killing, sexually abusing and separating from Swedish journalist Kim Wall in his submarine on a summer night in August 2017.
