Norwegian retail chains are running out of these two products, but there are emergency solutions.

Two weeks ago, Godt wrote about the combination of sweets something special that has taken off on social media: alligators with hockey powder.

If you haven’t tried the latest in candy yet, it’s not sure it’s that easy to get. Many stores have good candy coverage, but are completely out of stock for these two items.

– From week 34 to week 35, we had a 128 percent increase in total Hockey Powder sales in Kiwi. When it comes to alligators, we sadly don’t see our own numbers as that is part of the loose weight treats, says Kiwi communications consultant Nora Mile Helgesen of MittJessheim, adding that 86 of their stores are now out of stock for hockey. hockey.

Distributors reassure

The online newspaper visited the Coop Prix at VG’s home on Thursday morning. Here too, a few floors below where it all started, both products were sold out.

According to a store clerk, Hockey Powder was empty at the wholesaler. Henriette Dahl Kjørsvik is Marketing Director at Conaxess Trade Norway. It is this company that distributes the Crocodiller by Lutti and Hockey Powder by Grahns brands to Norwegian wholesalers, who in turn deliver to stores. She reassures the honeyed Norwegians:

– Ask at the store. We have items in stock, both hockey powder and crocs in bags, so we can deliver! Dahl Kjørsvik tells Nettavisen.

He emphasizes that the company has nothing to do with the crocodiles in the small merchandise department, but with those that come in bags. When it comes to small items, Nidar (Coop), Candyking (Rema 1000) and Unil (Norgesgruppen) are responsible for distribution.

Elisabeth Ekheim, communications director for Orkla (owner of Nidar), promises that they will do their part to ensure that Nettavisen and others visiting a Coop store in the future do not find an empty crocodile container on the small items counter:

– The delicious combination of cute alligators covered in hockey dust seems to work well during the day. We noticed a big increase in crocodile sales on the Nidar Smågodt shelf. We still have more in stock and are working to meet demand in the future as well, Ekheim writes in an email to Nettavisen.

Conaxess also does its part to avoid shortages:

– We have Grahns, the hockey powder producer, to increase additional shifts, to meet demand, says Dahl Kjørsvik.

– Very good!

– Have you tried the combination yourself?

– If I have! We did it pretty quickly after the news, at the office, he says.

– What was the verdict?

– I think it was great! I don’t eat hockey powder as usual, I must honestly admit, but I liked the taste! And the alligators are really good, says the marketing manager, adding that the bagged alligators they sell are always fresh, making them oilier on the surface and better suited for collecting hockey dust, according to the marketing manager.

– The ad was posted mostly for fun when I noticed that the nearest stores were completely empty of crocodiles, the man behind the ad writes to Nettavisen. You want to remain anonymous.

– I read about the trend just before and thought this was a bit funny, he adds.

He doesn’t have high hopes for the announcement:

– I do not expect anyone to bother to pay so much (500 crowns) for something that costs so little in the store, about 150 crowns, the man writes through the Finnish app and adds that he has not received any inquiries yet. about 600 grams of crocodiles and five boxes of hockey powder awaiting a new owner.

The author

Good reports that it is Anette Løkstad who is the woman behind the mix, which she already shared on a Facebook group in 2014, but has only taken off now. Whether black or orange crocs are the best in the mix, she has no doubt:

– When it comes to mixing with Hockey Powder, I think oranges are the most suitable, because I feel like they are a little softer than black, Løkstad tells Godt.

Usually, however, blacks are the favorites, Løkstad reports, revealing that it was only recently that she found out that they tried black currants.
