The Oslo University Hospital (OUS) has taken over seriously ill coviditis patients from Ahus in the last 24 hours because the demand is too great. In the last two weeks, Ahus has tripled the number of covid patients.
Patients from the Oslo districts of Grorud, Stovner and Alna are now admitted to the Oslo University Hospital and not the Akershus (Ahus) University Hospital, to which they belong.
Changes are made on behalf of Helse Sør-Øst. This is confirmed by the executive director of the Akershus University Hospital, Øystein Mæland, to VG.

On Thursday, Ahus has a total of 28 covid-19 patients, 11 of them in the intensive care unit. On February 17, Ahus declined in seven covid-19 patients. The new increase has led to increased pressure on surveillance and intensive care capacity, the hospital says.
The order for the ambulance service is now to take acutely ill patients with respiratory problems from the eastern districts to the Oslo University Hospital, and not to Ahus. This is done to alleviate the latter.
This applies as of today Thursday.

The hospital has postponed several planned operations to free up surveillance and intensive care capacity for critically ill patients, the hospital reports.
Earlier this week, covid patients were transferred to other hospitals due to high demand.
– Four covid patients have been transferred to Sykehuset Innlandet, Diakonhjemmet and the Oslo University Hospital in the last week, before the latest measures were implemented. Additionally, OUS has continued treatment of three patients who had been treated there and who would have otherwise been treated further at Ahus, Mæland says.
The hospital claims that these three patients are not necessarily covidual patients.
Correction: VG first received information that patients were also sent to Diakonhjemmet and Lovisenberg, but Ahus corrected since publication that patients are only sent to Oslo University Hospital. The error was corrected on 03/04/21 at 05:05 PM.
