The measures are identical and coordinated for the four municipalities, and have been adopted with a time limit, in the first instance until 12.23.2020 inclusive.
Stange Municipal Director Kaija Eide Døren says the situation is dire.
– This will have consequences for our citizens. I can understand very well that parents, parents and grandparents get anxious, how the situation is lived now.
In Stange, several cases of contagion have been detected in recent days, also associated with schools and kindergartens.
The infection increases
In the last two weeks, there has been a clear increase in cases of infection locally in the region. At Ringsaker alone, 50 new cases have been reported since December 6. There is infection in many different settings and in all age groups. Several of the cases have not known the route of infection, indicating that there are a number of infections in society that we cannot detect, says municipal chief physician Cecilie Blakstad Eikenes.
The national strategy to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic is based on testing, isolation, infection detection and quarantine (TISK). This strategy has worked well since its implementation and assumes that information gathering, close contact mapping, and adherence to infection control advice are working satisfactorily. The strategy works up to a certain level of infection, but then other measures must be taken.
– Now the infection in the region is approaching a level where the strategy no longer works. To reduce the increase in infection, we must implement measures that reduce the frequency of contact, says Blakstad Eikenes.
– At the same time, we cannot say often enough that it is now extremely important that all people with symptoms of a respiratory infection get tested, he emphasizes.
Unclear situation
– In the last week, we have had several outbreaks both in school and in health and care. In short, there is a confusing infection situation with infection in various places, says Councilor Jørn Strand.
The outbreak puts both the test apparatus and the infection-tracking equipment to a severe test, and it is seen that it is absolutely necessary to take more measures to slow development.
– If we want to stop this outbreak, we must all take another step towards Christmas now, says the councilor, and encourages everyone to read the regulations carefully.
The provisions of the regulation include:
- Closure of public places and shops where cultural, entertainment or leisure activities take place indoors
- Limitation of number in stores and shopping centers
- Indoor events ban, with certain exceptions.
- It is not allowed to hold outdoor events with more than 100 people present at the same time.
- Restaurants and pubs must close at 22.
- It is not allowed to organize or attend private meetings with more than ten people present and, at the same time, the number of households that meet must be limited.
