– It is urgent to reverse development in Oslo in view of the situation in hospitals in the eastern part of Norway and to be able to reverse development at the national level, Health Minister Bent Høie tells TV 2 after a new daily record was recorded in the number of infected in Oslo on Tuesday.
In the last 24 hours there have been 223 new infections in Oslo, 39 more than the average of last week.
The average of the past week is 184 infected per day. The number of infected registered in the last 24 hours is 25 more than yesterday.
On the same day last week, 123 cases of infection were registered.
Steady climb
– The figures show the seriousness of the situation and that the strict measures that were introduced last week are necessary and not least the measures that the city council proposed on Tuesday, Høie tells the channel.
Will require a lot
The fact that the number increases or decreases from one day to the next does not necessarily mean that there is a general change in the infection, as there may be a delay in notification.
However, the trend has been a steady increase over the past four weeks. During week 45, a total of 1,197 cases were registered, an average of 171 per day.
Three districts at peak of infection
From weeks 45 to 46, there has been the greatest increase in the 10-19 age group. There has also been an increase in the older age groups.
The districts of Alna, Gamle Oslo and Grünerløkka have been at the peak of infection in the last four weeks, with 346, 327 and 297 cases of infection, respectively.
