The growing infection worries the town council leader. – The City Council is continually considering new measures to prevent further spread of the infection.

The municipality announces it in a press release.

– The increase in infections is worrying, but it is important to note that we have good control of the situation. The municipality of Oslo has a strong testing capacity and good systems to track and isolate infected people. But we are completely dependent on everyone in Oslo understanding the seriousness of the situation and helping reduce infection rates, says City Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party).

The City Council is continually considering measures to prevent further spread of the infection.

– To protect the most vulnerable among us, we depend on everyone taking responsibility, continues Johansen. The municipality does not write anything about what measures can be considered.

The municipality knows this about the infection:

  • The highest number of infected people is in the age group 20-29 years.
  • The sources of infection are primarily family and friends, or at work. About. 30% say the source of the infection is unknown.
  • Cases of infection have also been reported among employees or students of 20 schools in Oslo. Seven of these
they are upper secondary schools or adult education, and the others are primary schools.
  • Infections and closed rooms have been reported in three kindergartens in Oslo.
  • In recent weeks, there has also been infection in small conglomerates, even in municipal homes with adapted services.

The press release comes a few hours after Assistant Health Director Espen Nakstad told NRK that they are more concerned about the infection in Oslo than Bergen, and that if development continues, Oslo could become one of the reddest cities in Europe.

Health Councilor Robert Steen (Labor Party) believes everyone needs to be more aware.

– It is worrying that the infection tracker cannot identify the infection site for everyone. This may mean that we all need to be more aware of where we are traveling, who we are with and if we can comply with the “meter’n” and wear a mask in the situations where it is recommended and must be driven collectively.
