In gyms outside Oslo on Tuesday, there was a queue of people wanting to train. Sats encourages the people of Oslo to stay home.
Since Tuesday, gyms in Oslo have closed thousands of people who wanted to train.
Currently, the infection measures will be valid for three weeks.
In Asker and Bærum exercise is still allowed. Local newspaper Budstikka talked about a queue at Sats in Bekkestua, from the entrance to the basement of the parking lot. The newspaper also spoke with a client from Oslo who had crossed the municipal border for training.
Sats, on the other hand, denies that traffic has increased.
– We follow the traffic in our centers and we have analyzed the visitor statistics. We do not see a strong increase now, nor compared to last week, earlier this year or at the same time last year, Sats communications manager Malin Selander tells Aftenposten.
– Everything we do is determined by our infection control rules. Those who train with us must be sure that it is safe to train. Therefore, we have limited the number of people who enter, the distance you must have.
– How do you explain that there are long queues outside Sats centers outside Oslo, for example in Bærum?
– We may have to close the doors because there are too many, and then we close the doors. Then there may be queues. But we have not seen any significant increase.
You have the right to train outside of Oslo
Many Sats members have regional memberships. They are people who live in a municipality, but work in another place.
– They have the right to train in various gyms. The municipality of Oslo has made it clear that they must stay home. I think people should do that, says communications manager Selander.
At the same time that gyms in the capital are due to close for three weeks, Sats has extended training times in many places in Oslo.
– What is the reason you have extended your training hours after Oslo closed the fitness centers? Is it because you have more clients?
– We are only trying to create training opportunities. By opening training hours, we want to spread the traffic over a longer period of time, says Selander.
– We also add our group training schedules to more unusual schedules to spread the word about the activity. We want people to exercise, but safely. The most important thing for us is to maintain our routines. Then there may be a queue.
