Open war in Trøndelag Ap

– After today, we must look forward.

This was said by outgoing county leader Per Olav Skurdal Hopsø in his keynote address at the annual Trøndelag Labor Party meeting on Saturday.

But in meeting rooms, delegates probably looked over their shoulders for fear of a dagger in their back.

Trondheim Mayor Rita Ottervik believes the county party is at “zero point” after the dramatic conflicts in recent days.

– Means of force are used that surprise me a lot, says Ottervik to NTB.

Sorti by Giske

It began with Monday’s election committee unanimously nominating Trond Giske as the new leader of the Trøndelag Labor Party.

The attitude sparked a spate of protests, and several women showed up with strong stories about the culture and unpleasant experiences at the county party. She ended Trøndelag AUF on Thursday by withdrawing her support for Giske.

Therefore, the attitude fell and Giske was shattered. Giske himself said on Friday that he is no longer a candidate and that he will not run for re-election to the Storting either.

According to him, the burden is too great.

“It is impossible to be in a situation where neither basic legal norms nor press norms are applied. This does not end, people can without documentation make accusations against me every time I apply for political office. It happened last year , it is happening again now and could happen in the future. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion with my family that I can no longer bear this, nor a new appointment to the Storting, “wrote Giske on Facebook.

– Finally, there are those who dare

Deputy Leader Audun Lønmo Knudsrød in Trondheim Ap praised the whistleblowers and criticized the party’s culture in a message during the county’s annual meeting on Saturday.

– When the girls and young women of the AUF must have their own meetings to warn each other about which men to watch out for at our annual meetings, then there is something terribly terrifying. When those meetings are still necessary, then it says something about the culture that is not addressed. Nothing has happened, Knudsrød said in a spirited speech from the rostrum during Trøndelag Ap’s annual meeting.

He said he believes people have been afraid to speak out about critical conditions in the party.

– Everyone has dared to say “power struggle and media pressure”. No one has dared to say “we have a problem,” Knudsrød said.

I hope more dare to speak

He paid tribute to the young women who have stood up and spoke about culture at Trøndelag Labor in recent days.

– Finally, there are some who dare, and I hope that more dare. And we must be prepared for them to tell someone other than us until further notice before trust in us is rebuilt, Knudsrød said, continuing:

– Gina Berre, Ellen Reitan, Sandra Skillingsås: You are my political role models.

Leader Håkon Einarsve at Trøndelag AUF also spoke out against party culture in his office.

“The last few days have been necessary,” he said.

Einarsve said the party has a duty to listen when someone presents stories on issues worthy of criticism.

– If we have not seen this culture with our own eyes, then it is not the fault of the victims. So we are the ones who have not done our job.

– This is the Trøndelag Labor Party agreement with metoo. It is not just a game that ends when media attention dies. There is one before and one after this annual meeting, Einarsve said.

On Friday, Parliamentary Representative Ingvild Kjerkol from Stjørdal became the new favorite to become county leader.

But when the nominating committee came up with its new recommendation on Friday night, it was surprising that Rennebu’s Marit Bjerkås topped the list.

Shortly thereafter, various media outlets reported that the nominating committee chairman Arild Grande had told the nominating committee members that he had received information that there could be a warning against Kjerkol if the nominating committee nominated her as new. Chairwoman.

Thus, the stage was set for new rounds with extremely hard attacks on Saturday.

At the same time, NRK was able to report that it was time for a party vote at the annual meeting. On Saturday afternoon, according to NRK, several sources confirmed that there would be bank proposals for Kjerkol as county leader instead of Bjerkås.

“The hardest thing I’ve ever been through”

Kjerkol told NRK that what happened the night before was “the worst she has ever been involved in.”

– The nominating committee leader has broken all our routines for both electoral processes and notification routines. An agreement must be reached. It will not be to start a new culture to continue the race that Arild Grande has run last week, Kjerkol said.

– I take the notification very seriously. But rumors and tricks I can not accept as leader of the Labor Party for a long time, he continued.

Grande responded by regretting that “things that were said with deep confidentiality” had been leaked.

– The first person I called after the nomination committee meeting was Ingvild Kjerkol. To tell both the message he had received and what he had done on the nominating committee. We try to handle this in a proper way, Grande said.

According to him, it is important to exercise caution with fellow party members who are sitting on difficult stories.

-Therefore, it is very regrettable that these things are deliberately planted in the media, Grande warned.
