The “farm” participant (39) received a surprise message from the production and chose to leave the recordings for eight hours. – I had an ugly feeling in my body, he says.
It was Sanna Khursheed (32) who had to leave “The Farm” on Sunday, but there were several dramatic scenes that took place on the farm these days. Nils Kvalvik, last week’s great farmer, was suddenly informed that one of his closest relatives, his uncle Kjell Vidar Osan, who had been very supportive of him throughout his life, had passed away.
He died a few days before his 65th birthday.
– Heavy message
To VG, Kvalvik tells him that he woke up that day and I knew that something was wrong.
– I had an “ugly” feeling in my body. We sat there in the morning, and then a bird crashed into the window behind me. I reacted to the others and said that I was going to receive a death message. Sindre (Nyeng, journal. Note) told me that I had to stop the Sami nonsense and that I had to stop scaring them. It took me two hours and then they pulled me out of production, he says.

According to the “Farmen” participant, it was the casting director who entered the estate and gave him the message of death. VG has contacted the casting director, who confirms that last week’s big farmer said he “knew” after she gave him the sad message.
– We have been very close to each other. I moved south when I was 16, and then it was my uncle who took care of me. He organized my work and just took care of me. It was a very heavy message to receive, I would say it was one of the most difficult messages I have received in my life, Kvalvik tells VG.

Eight days later, he decided to leave the production to attend the funeral of his beloved uncle. It took place not far from the “Farmen” farm in Hønefoss, so the 39-year-old was away for only eight hours.
He makes no secret of the fact that he spent eight difficult days on the farm before meeting his loved ones.
– It was difficult. But at the same time it was good to have Thor there. I think it was an opinion that there was a priest at “The Farm,” and that we also had such a good relationship, says Kvalvik, referring to fellow participant Thor Haavik (26), who is a newly formed priest.
He adds:
– It was an opinion that the priest was there and that we had such a good relationship. Because it was Thor who took care of me. It meant a lot to me at the time. The feelings are then amplified there. And you can’t be with family either.

TV 2: – I’m so sorry
It was the heart that became the uncle’s path, according to Kvalvik, who works as an emergency driver and smoke diver.
– It was a shock. He died where he prospered best. In Finnmark, on the mountain. I think that he himself, deep down, knew it was coming to an end. You get some signals. He has not been to Finnmark for many years, but at his death he was heading to the Finnmark Plateau at this time.
– Are you a little alternative in mentality, would you say?
– All human beings can see signs in nature. In the old days, people were a bit superstitious, and at that time, the media did not exist – they read signs in nature. But even I have never been a very alternative person. I’m not on that plane. But this was a testimony for many of the young people of “La Granja”, they saw what happened. The press officer for “Farmen” on TV 2, Alex Iversen, confirms that Kvalvik was allowed to leave “Farmen” to participate in his uncle’s funeral.
– Nils was informed by the production that his uncle had died in the second week. Naturally, he was very upset. We know you had a lot of good conversations with Thor behind the scenes in the days after receiving the message. The funeral took place in the eastern area of Norway and Nils wanted to attend himself. Something that, of course, he had the opportunity to do. He was brought to the funeral by the responsible participant, who also made sure infection control was maintained, he tells VG.
VG has also been in contact with Nils’ aunt, Kjell Vidar Osan’s widow, who has given VG permission to discuss the case.
