The case is being updated
Erik Haugane (68), founder of the oil company Okea, resigns as director of the company. He will resign later this year, it is said.
Svein J. Liknes will take over as Director of Okea. He comes from the position of Vice President of Special Projects and Due Diligence at Aker BP. Previously, he was also a director of Aker Energy and has extensive experience with production units, both projects and operations, in Asia and the United Kingdom.
Liknes also has a background in the military and has studied at the University of Stavanger and the University College of Western Norway.
– With a growing portfolio and an experienced effective management team, Okea is very well positioned to grow on the Norwegian platform. Erik Haugane has led Okea well over the past six years and has performed well in a market that has sometimes been challenging, Bangchak Corporation Chairman and CEO Chaiwat Kovavisarach said in a statement.
– On behalf of the board, I would like to welcome Svein to Okea and look forward to working closely with him as we continue to build the platform that Erik has created, he says.
Colorful oil entrepreneur Erik Haugane founded and ran the Det norske oil company in his time, which later became Aker BP. In 2015, he founded the oil company Okea in Trondheim, together with co-founder and former Minister of Oil and Energy Ola Borten Moe.
– As a founder, investor and current manager, I am very happy that Svein accepted this job, says Haugane in a message.
– A good foundation and a good growth strategy have been established. I am confident that Svein, together with the management team, will continue the journey and add significant value to society and shareholders, he says.
