All the way back to March the call came from Fretex to wait to deliver the bags at the collection points. The reason was that they did not have the capacity to keep up with demand due to store closures, laid off employees and reduced transportation capacity, causing the bags to pile up faster than Fretex can receive them.
In addition, the paralysis of exports made it impossible to send surplus clothing out of the country.
Fretex now announces that they are now back in normal operation and ready again to receive bags and other gifts that people have stored.
– At the beginning of the corona pandemic, we asked people to leave Fretex bags at home for a while because sales stopped and there were fewer people at work to empty the boxes. Donors have listened to us and we want to thank everyone who has helped in that way, says Trine Gjermundbo at Fretex in a press release.
Fretex has equipped several of the boxes with sensors that measure the contents, which will make emptying more efficient.
It is also possible to deliver in your own Fretex bags at Norway Post. It costs 50 crowns to ship.
