Now comes the snow

But on May 17, there is hope for warmer weather.

The beginning of May has been freezing in western Norway. This is how it will continue for the next few days. The construction cannon will likely provide snow on the slopes of the mountains, and perhaps in the city.

– We are on the way with a cold air outbreak. The north wind comes with an unstable type of weather that will cause some rain, says Kristin Seter, who is a surveillance meteorologist at Vervarslinga in western Norway.

The rain will come mainly as snow. Rain and sleet can only occur at the end of the coast.

– The snow limit barely exceeds 100 meters above sea level. It may also be lower, says the meteorologist.

Most showers are located in the northernmost part of the county. That is in Nordfjord. Further south, the meteorologist forecasts periods of sunshine.

But the sun doesn’t lead to warmer weather at first. It is great throughout Westland.

– It’s pretty cold for the season, Seter observes.

With a force of the wind against the strong breeze, he warns against embarking on a boat trip. The best hikes in the mountains can also be a very sour pleasure.

– Those who plan to go to the mountains should dress very well or stay at home, says the meteorologist.

When it comes to the weather on May 17, it remains a lot uncertain, but the meteorologist feels reasonably sure of one thing:

– The cold front recedes and warms, at least more than ten degrees. It is more uncertain whether there will be heavy rainfall or precipitation, says Seter.
