In a press release Thursday morning, Norwegian states that the plan for the financial restructuring of the company has been presented to creditors and shareholders. If approved, the company aims for the restructuring to be completed in May 2021.

But the company also reports that they cannot refund the latest customers who have not yet received a refund for their tickets. They are to blame for the Irish rebuilding process.

– On the part of the company, we wanted to fully reimburse the last customers and we regret that this is not possible, says Norwegian CFO Geir Karlsen in the press release.

– About 98 percent of refund claims that arose during this period, in which the booking was made directly with Norwegian, were refunded prior to the opening of reorganization negotiations. In Norway, this applies to almost all customers, 99.6 percent, the company writes.

A total of 34,000 customers do not receive a full refund.

“Despite discussions with the Irish Examiner and Norwegian Reconstructor, it has unfortunately proven impossible to reimburse the remaining customer claims in full due to the basic principles in such reconstruction processes.” it says in the press release.
