REAL AMBERES – TOTTENHAM 1–0

Juklerød and his teammates are flying high right now. On Thursday, the Belgian league leaders beat Tottenham 1-0 in the Europa League.

The team thus leads its group with a full pot, after winning the opening match in Bulgaria last week.

Davies error

After just under half an hour, Ben Davies cloned him and gave the home team the attack that made it 1-0. He’s got a crack on the rebound just off Dieumerci Mbokani … how did he miss that ?! Incredible. At the right moment, he played in favor of Lior Refaelov, who cushioned the ball and sent a removable ankle kick into the corner.

José Mourinho angrily wrote down in his notebook on the sidelines. That was not the way Davies wanted to mark his 200th game with the club. During the break, the Tottenham manager made four changes.

– I would have preferred to change to 11 men, but I did not use the five changes because I knew there were 45 minutes long, said Mourinho.

It was not undeserved for the Belgians to lead. The wingers constantly created problems for the Tottenham defense, Simen Juklerød with the play and Koji Miyoshi with the technique.

Mourinho constantly threw offensive players, to no avail. However, Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, who is from Antwerp, never entered his hometown field.

Juklerød had a great opportunity after the break, but only with Hugo Lloris did the ball fly.

Dream week

Juklerød also stood out in the first match of the Europa League group stage last week. The Norwegian played the entire game and scored a goal pass as Royal Antwerp took a solid 2-1 away win against Ludogorets in Bulgaria.

The former Bærum and Vålerenga player did his job so well in that match that he was selected for the UEFA Europa League round-robin squad along with, among others, Arsenal star David Luiz.

This weekend, Juklerød continued the great game when his Royal Antwerp beat Beerschot 3-2 in the Belgian top division. The Norwegian finished his third goal of the season in the win.

Royal Antwerp tops the table in Belgium one point ahead of Club Brugge after ten games. This weekend, Anderlecht awaits Juklerød & Co.
