– The Norwegian Competition Authority has reasonable grounds to assume that there has been an exchange of competition-sensitive information between players in the shipping market and has therefore carried out an unannounced inspection to refute or confirm suspicion of illegal cooperation, says research director Kari Bjørkhaug, in a press release.

The taking of evidence has been carried out on the basis of a decision of the Bergen District Court, and the Norwegian Competition Authority has seized relevant material that will be reviewed.

The Norwegian Competition Authority states that it does not have the opportunity to comment specifically on the case at hand.

E24 has tried to contact the Norwegian Competition Authority, but has so far not contacted Research Director Bjørkhaug.
