This is confirmed by Swedish vaccine coordinator Richard Bergstrøm to VG.

In fact, the Moderna vaccine was expected to be approved in the EU and Norway today. It did not happen.

But on wednesday may Norway gets its second approved corona vaccine. The dose distribution is now ready.

  • Next week: Norway can receive 4,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine starting Monday. Next week we will also receive 40,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which has already been approved.
  • In January and February: A total of 67,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine and 320,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

I didn’t get approval on Monday

The European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is processing Moderna’s application for approval, could not conclude today.

If these professionals recommend approving the vaccine on Wednesday, the EU and Norway will likely approve it for use on the same day.

– There are still some questions that Moderna must answer. The official schedule is yet to be approved on Wednesday. Today we tried to be ready, but the experts need answers to their questions, Richard Bergstrøm tells VG.

  • What is the difference between Pfizer and Moderna? Both are made with the same vaccine technology and require two doses. But the Moderna vaccine does not require cold storage. It can also be stored much longer at refrigerator temperature.
  • Can more vaccines be approved and how is it done? Two others are pending approval. Check here which vaccines are approved and how.
  • How many doses does Norway receive in total? In total, Norway has secured enough vaccines for 3.9 million Norwegians.
  • How many have been vaccinated in my municipality? FHI has not yet released figures on this. They have only said that 2,200 doses were set in the Christmas space.
  • Do I have priority? Take the test below to check.
