In a stock exchange announcement Monday morning, Kahhoot announces that Northzone has sold 12 million of its Kahoot shares to Softbank at a price of NOK 79 per share.

After this transaction, Softbank now owns 13.45 percent of Kahoot. This makes them the largest owners of the company.

Northzone owns 12 million shares in the questionnaire platform company, corresponding to 2.69 percent of the company.

ABG Sundal Collier acted as facilitator of the sale.

It was in October that Kahoot carried out a so-called private placement against Japanese investment giant Softbank. Upon issuance, Softbank had a 9.69 percent ownership interest.

When the issue became known, DN Kahoot CEO Eilert Hanoa asked if he had made a decision on whether Softbank would own the entire Kahoot. Then Hanoa replied as follows:

– I don’t think so, says Hanoa, who has no idea whether the investment in Softbank is strategic or financial.

– Softbank has an impressive base of experience, a network and, above all, a portfolio of companies that they own, so we are absolutely sure that they have a lot to contribute, said the head of Kahoot.

Norwegian investor Jan Haudemann-Andersen is the second largest owner of Kahoot through the investment company Datum.
