Four hours have been reserved for the case of the confession, which will take place in room 250. It is the courtroom that was built for the July 22 trial. Eirik Jensen and Laila Bertheussen are also among those who have appeared as defendants in this room.

The former king of skiing is accused of violating the provisions of the Road Traffic Law on speed, as well as possession of small amounts of cocaine.

He has admitted everything that is imputed to him, so the case will be treated as a case of confession, where the sentence is the only thing that the judge will decide.

The background to the case is that in August he was stopped by the police on the E6 north of Oslo. It was measured at 168 kilometers per hour in a zone of 110.

After this, the police patrol decided to search his house. That’s when they seized 10 grams of cocaine.

Shortly after the case became known, Northug held a press conference in which he acknowledged that he has a serious substance abuse problem.

Northug’s defense attorney, attorney Halvard Helle, has not responded to TV 2’s investigation.

The judge in the case is Ole Kristen Øverberg. Due to infection control considerations, there will be limited seating in the courthouse.
