From night to Sunday, it began to burn in a house at Tordenskjolds gate in Mosjøen. The Nordland Police District announced this on Twitter at 12:47.

The house caught fire quickly, but at 02:14 the fire crews announced that they were in control of the fire.

Two people have not been counted and two have been sent to the hospital.

– There are two pieces that we believe are located in the house, which have not been accounted for. A third person who is also in the house has been transported to the hospital, in addition to a person who was in the area and assisted in rescue work to get the person out of the house, says operations manager Kenneth Magnussen to Helgelendingen at 05.15 am.

Police reported Sunday night that there was one person who had not been accounted for.

Magnussen explains that the police have now entered a phase where they are trying to find out what happened.

– Now our work is more focused on that, in addition to the fact that we are still on the site. The fire service is still engaged in later extinguishing. At the moment, I have nothing to say about what has happened, says Magnussen.

The police report that they have launched an investigation to try to account for the two missing. In addition, work is under way to discover the course of events and the cause of the fire through questioning of witnesses and other investigations.

Three houses have been evacuated in the immediate area. The street is closed to traffic.

– Those to be evacuated have been evacuated, so there will be no more. The evacuees are being accommodated at Ms. Haugan’s hotel. Several neighbors in the vicinity have received an SMS from the municipality to close doors and windows, he says.
